Smell= Holiday Memories

Did you know that the human’s sense of smell triggers more memories than any of the other five senses? It’s true. According to a recent New York Times article, scents have a direct link to our memory. It’s no wonder your mouth begins to water when you smell Grandma’s famous pumpkin pie, or you begin to plan for Christmas when your smell cinnamon. When I heard this, I decided to start my bargain search at Bath and Body Works. The store itself makes me want to crawl into a robe and slippers, curl up on the couch, and watch Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. (Do NOT judge me for my love of Disney!) The scents in Bath and Body Works take me back to some really wonderful holiday memories. This season, help create that “scent triggered” memory with your family.

I’m going to be honest with you: I’m slightly obsessed with this new holiday scent, Twilight Woods. I’m buying everything the store carries in that scent. It’s truly beautiful. A mixture of sparkling apricot nectar, mimosa petals, Tuscan cypress, and several other wild berries and velvet woods make this scent one of Bath and Body Work’s all-time best. It’s truly one a kind and I’m absolutely sold. All of their new holiday scents are amazing, including Fireside, Evergreen, and Frosted Cranberry to name a few, but Twilight Woods gets my devotion. Some of the scents that are coming back to the shelves this holiday season include Winter Candy Apple, Yuletide Pear Vanilla, and Vanilla Bean Noel. (Little plug for Vanilla Bean Noel, I thought it wasn’t ever coming back, so I have an almost empty bottle of it from 2 years ago at home that I still use occasionally. I don’t recommend that you keep your lotion that long, or put it on your skin if it’s that old, but the point is that Vanilla Bean Noel smells glorious.)
The best part of Bath and Body Works’ holiday wonder is that they have a deal called “Create the Perfect Gift for Under $30”. Yes, it is in fact exactly what it sounds like. Pick a shower gel, body lotion, and a fragrance mist. Then get it wrapped in a cello bag for free, all for under $30. Bath and Body Works also has several other promotions that you should check out. Between the candles and the body care products, the store is the “bargain hunter’s” haven right now.

Also, check out the new Figural Candles coming this holiday season. These things are totally adorable! They are ceramic figures of a snowman, polar bear, and a reindeer that come with candles inside, scented exclusively to these figures. Their names are Buttons, Paws, and Jingles, respectively. If you’re looking for a good gift for the office gift exchange that won’t break the bank, check out these candles. They smell wonderful and they’re really cute for the holiday season. They are priced at $35 each and burn for about 100 hours. It’s a great gift!

Okay, hunters... Be very careful with the information I've given you! Use it wisely. Now go and capitalize on this "shopportunity"!
